TGIF Open Thread!

Hello, Destructoid! It's that wonderful time of the week! It's Friday!

I officially have a cover for my book 🙌 I need to set up a Goodreads page (still struggling a bit with the blurb, I swear this is harder than writing the actual book!) and do a proper cover reveal, but modesty aside, I think it's beautiful! The copy editor will soon return the book with his notes as well (which I hope won't be many lol), and then I need to worry about the page design. And set up a newsletter! I almost forgot about this 😅 But it shouldn't be hard with some apps dedicated to this. I'm aiming at a November/December release (no, it's not a Christmas book, very far from it!), but we'll see what happens.

I read Neil Gaiman's The Sleeper and the Spindle, which could be great but commits the sin of being way too short. A novel or novella would've been so amazing! I also started reading The Wicked and the Willing, one of the books by a dark fantasy author. It involves a love triangle, which I often detest, but I decided to give this one a try, and I'm enjoying it so far.

My father's birthday is on Sunday, so I'll have more good food and cake this weekend! Nothing planned outside of that. This is finally MK 1's month, and I can tell these 13 days until the early access will be filled with anxiety! They should reveal Nitara soon, at least that will make the wait less agonising 👀
