Phils Game/Pop Music Similarities #306 - Run Kids Run

Featuring Final Fantasy VI and country/gospel.

Greetings fellow game music lovers,

another week, another Final Fantasy song. And another Final Fantasy VI (1994) song. This time it is the theme that plays in the small towns in the World of Balance, aka "Kids Run Through the City" :

My hypthesis is that the song is supposed to be an homage to a certain type of melodic progressions often found in the country/gospel domain. Some examples:
