Quick and easy WoW mount collecting: Swift Gloomhoof

What’s better than a goth unicorn?

When I play a game, I like to know that my time is actively going toward something. Things like drop chances and RNG don’t speak to me. As such, mounts with a guaranteed drop rocket right to the top of my to-do list in World of Warcraft. Galloping ahead of that pack is the Swift Gloomhoof.

The Swift Gloomhoof mount drops from the Rare Elite, Night Mare. This spooky unicorn is found within the verdant forests of Ardenweald in Shadowlands. However, it inhabits an alternate version of the ethereal woods and we’re gonna need a tool to go in after it.

Our first step is to collect the Broken Soulweb. Head west to the island of Tirna Scithe. On an elevated ledge will be a rundown carriage with a stick behind it that can be interacted with. This will add the Broken Soulweb to your bags.

The next step is to take the Broken Soulweb to Elder Gwenna in Glitterfall Basin. If you haven’t done much in Ardenweald, you’ll need to have completed the Outplayed quest before Elder Gwenna appears in Glitterfall Basin. This is part of the Tricky Spriggans storyline that begins with Ages-Echoing Wisdom from the NPC, Lady of the Falls.

Back to what we’re doing, Elder Gwenna requires 10 Lightless Silk to repair the Broken Soulweb. These can be obtained from the Auction House on the cheap or you can farm them from the Drust in northeastern Ardenweald.

With the Repaired Soulweb in hand, we’re headed to Ysera in the Heart of the Forest. If you’re not a member of this covenant, simply ask a guard outside to speak with Ysera and she’ll come out to meet you. The Aspect will enchant the Repaired Soulweb, turning it into the Dream Catcher.

Now that we have the Dream Catcher, head to Dreamshrine Basin, northeast of Hibernal Hollow. Use the Dream Catcher to pierce the veil and you should see Night Mare bopping around, provided he hasn’t been killed recently. With your target acquired, send the ethereal horse to the glue factory and claim your new mount. To return to the normal world, simply right-click The Shadow’s Dream buff to remove it.
