Getting a Society Medallion in Fortnite improves your stats, but they come at a cost: they show where you are to other players as long as you hold it. Here’s where to find this item in Fortnite.
Where to find a Society Medallion in Fortnite
Society Medallions in Fortnite are located in five different spots on the map. You must take down the boss in that area to acquire this mighty reward. You must go to:
- Lavish Lair (Oscar)
- Grand Glacier (Montague)
- Fencing Fields (Nisha)
- Reckless Railways (Valeria)
- Snooty Steppes (Peter Griffin, with his meme knee-grabbing and all)
Once you appear in one of these five locations, an emblem with the character’s face appears on the mini-map. Follow the map until you find the boss and eliminate them. They’ll drop the Society Medallion (and an awesome gun as well).
My piece of advice is to find a Ballistic Shield and remove the blue meter. Then switch to your best weapon and try to take as much HP as possible before they drink down a shield potion. They also come with minions so watch out. It might be best to form up a party with your pals.
What can Society Medallions do?
Society Medallions give two different bonuses at the time of writing. They can either fill your shields back up to 100 progressively or increase your maximum shield overall. The only problem is that they mark where you are on everyone’s maps as a yellow circle. For me, the benefits outweigh the con, especially if you’re attentive to what’s going on around you. These circles do get smaller as the match progresses, however, so watch out.
If the risk is to great, you can drop a Society Medallion at any time by going to your inventory and dragging it back out into the game.
Getting a society medallion is one of the kickstart quests, so you should try to find one this season. You want to get that XP to get all the battle pass rewards.
