Does Fortnite Lego have a PvP mode?

LEGO Fortnite is now available and it allows players to check out a Lego-themed, Minecraft-like survival sandbox experience. There is quite a lot to this facet of Fortnite and its various modes, but is there a PvP option available as well?

Is there a Lego Fortnite PvP option?

Unfortunately, LEGO Fortnite did not launch with a PvP game mode. This may seem odd since Fortnite is built upon the idea of eliminating and competing against other players in battle royale and other modes. However, that isn’t the case for this cooperative multiplayer-only survival mode.

This actually harkens back to the foundation of Fortnite and its original mode of Save the World. Similar to that experience, LEGO Fortnite only offers a co-op experience for players to build and survive together. You can play with up to seven other players for a grand total of eight people in a single world at once, though, which is a nice consolation.

Could we see LEGO Fortnite PvP in the future?

The question remains if we could see a LEGO Fortnite PvP-focused mode in the future. Since this is only the launch of this experience, it is likely to grow with more features and settings in the future. I would be surprised if PvP didn’t arrive in the future, but this remains to be seen since Epic Games has not confirmed this feature yet.

That said, PvP is a central focus of Minecraft and its thriving community, which Lego Fortnite feels quite similar to in many of its mechanics. There is always the chance this option could appear in a later season of the game.

LEGO Fortnite settings, explained

While there is no PvP at this time, there are plenty of settings for players to customize for their worlds in LEGO Fortnite. This is similar to Minecraft, so you have the base option of survival versus sandbox. The former lets you play a pure experience where you collect materials from scratch, gather villagers, and survive against the creatures in the world.

On the other hand, sandbox mode lets you build without any concerns about materials or creatures trying to eliminate you. Within these two modes, there are even further settings you can tweak. Players can choose to play survival without hunger or temperature meters to make it a bit easier, for instance. You should take a look at these settings and customize your world to your liking.
