As you progress through the tech tree in Palworld, metal will quickly become a crucial resource in your economy. And to make metallic objects, you’ll need to gather some Ore and craft Ingots.
Making Ingots is fairly straightforward, though you won’t be able to automate it quite as easily as you might have Stone or Wood. Here’s the best way to tackle getting your early iron production online.
Where to find Ore
To make Ingots in Palworld, you’re going to need some Ore. Thankfully, that’s a naturally occurring resource, much like Stone that comes from rocks and Wood that comes from trees.
Locating Ore simply comes down to finding the copper-tinged rock formations where you can harvest it. I found a pretty decent amount around the starting area, the Windswept Hills. While it’s not quite as plentiful as Stone or Wood, Ore is easy enough to find and gather with a decent Pickaxe.
Once you’ve gathered up a sufficient amount of Ore, you’re ready to start crafting.
Build a Primitive Furnace
To turn Ore into Ingots in Palworld, you’ll need a Primitive Furnace. It’s in Tier 10 of the Technology tree, which you can access by heading to your menu and tabbing over. Building a Primitive Furnace takes 20 Wood, 50 Stone, and 3 Flame Organs, which you can get from knocking out local Foxparks.
Get the Furnace online, and you can drop your Ore in to make Ingots. The conversion rate is 2:1, so two Ore for one Ingot. Keep that in mind if you’re planning on making something that will need, say, 20 Ingots, like the Cooler.
At this point, you can smelt it all by hand, or you can recruit some of the Foxparks you were beating up earlier to do the labor for you. Any Pal with the Kindling ability can run the Primitive Furnace while you’re away, so I recommend having at least one Foxparks in your base for that reason alone. Even if you’re not actively smelting, Foxparks are also helpful for creating a constant influx of Baked Berries and other cooked goods.
Wait until production’s done, and bam, you have made some Ingots in Palworld. You can use them either by themselves, or take them over to the Workbench to make some Nails. Either way, this is just the first step on building into the next tier of production for your Pal base in Palworld.
