Yukari aims high in new Persona 3 Reload trailer

Way to go, Yuka-tan!

Persona 3 Reload's Yukari Takeba

Her aim is true and her spirits are high. Yukari Takeba makes her mark in the newest trailer for Persona 3 Reload, a remake of the acclaimed 2006 PlayStation 2 RPG. Following last week’s character trailer for Aleks Le’s Protagonist, Heather Gonzales puts her take on the archer with a heart of gold.

Taking it up a Notch

The trailer shows off its impressive visuals and infectious music as we learn about Yukari. We get a bit more of a look at life outside Tartarus and school, like going to the theater and eating takoyaki. Plus, we get her signature banter with fellow member Junpei Iori. On the battlefield, her skills with the bow and her Persona, Io, make for a deadly combination.

Narrative-wise, we get some mentions of her backstory and the role she’ll play in the main game. Her devotion to justice and to her friends rivals others on the team. She’ll make for a great companion in and out of combat. With Persona 3 Reload, as with the originals, the character is one of the romance options and social links.

In Japanese, original actress Megumi Toyoguchi (Junko from My Hero Academia) continues to play Yukari. For the English dub of Persona 3, she was voiced in English by Michelle Ruff. Past roles of hers include Rukia in Bleach and Yoko Littner in Gurren Lagann. Now, Heather Gonzales fills in as the lovable huntress in Persona 3 Reload. She is most known for playing Mineru in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

In the weeks to come, Atlus West’s YouTube page will post more character trailers for other members of S.E.E.S. Our very own Timothy Monbleau gave his first impressions of Persona 3 Reload in August, praising the gameplay and graphics. Needless to say, fans of the original have much to look forward to before it launches onto current-gen consoles (and Xbox Game Pass) on February 2, 2024.
