The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered brings all the action of the original game, along with a few improvements.
Naughty Dog has illustrated its commitment to making its game as accessible as possible, and this doesn’t stop with their latest release. These are the accessibility options you can expect from The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered.
Alternate controls
- Controls can be customized
- Alternate boat controls
- Rope ladder movement either be tied to the character or the camera (useful for players who are blind or have low vision)
- Guitar can be strummed by swiping the touchpad vertically, horizontally, or by tapping X
- Melee while aiming can be turned on and off
- Repeated button presses be controlled via holding the button or tapping. This can be individually customized for: Melee combos, aiming mode, sprinting, crafting, backpack weapon swap, bow firing, hold breath mode, and listen mode.
- Camera assist can be turned on and off
- Lock-on aim and the strength of it can be fine-tuned. This can also be done for arc-throws.
- Turn auto-weapon swap on and off
- Enable auto pick-up
Magnification and visual aids
- HUD can be enlarged
- Darken HUD background
- Change HUD color
- Enable HUD colorblind mode
- Enable HUD animations
- Turn the high-contrast display on or off
- Turn the screen magnifier on or off

Motion sickness
- Adjust the intensity of the camera shake

- Screen reader can be turned on and off

- Allies don’t get grabbed

- Tinnitus sound
Slow motion can also be toggled on during combat if the option is turned on.
Accessibility options were one of the praised aspects of the original game. It earned the Innovation in Accessibility award at The Game Awards in 2020 thanks to Naughty Dog’s efforts. Things haven’t changed with the remaster.
