You can equip more than one piece of body armor in Palworld, but there’s a catch

Hair adds nothing to defense stats

Palworld is full of funny moments and not devoid of glitches and bugs that players are utilizing – for instance, the ability to capture Zoe and Grizzbolt – but there’s one that seems to have gone under the radar. Did you know you can wear multiple pieces of armor?

As with most games of its type, Palworld has multiple armor slots designed for different types of armor. They’re pretty straightforward; the best body armor you have goes in the body armor slot, the head armor goes in the head armor slot and so on. Like I said, it’s straightforward and difficult to get wrong.

However, at one point, I did manage to get it wrong, placing a body armor piece in my head armor slot. Don’t ask how it happened, it just did. The results were… unexpected.

Well, I’m bald but I have more defense, so there’s that.

Anyway, after discovering this fun little glitch, I did some experimenting – here’s what I found.

What happens if you wear more than one piece of armor?

Cold Resistant or Heat Resistant armor provides you with resistance regardless of what slot you put it into. I put the Heat Resistant armor in my head armor slot and the Cold Resistant armor in my Glider slot before traveling between the Dessicated Desert and the mountainous region to the north. I suffered adverse effects in neither of them.

Interestingly, it doesn’t seem to matter whether you actually have a Glider equipped in the Glider slot – I could still quite happily glide while the Cold Resistant armor was in that slot. However, the gliding animation is gone, and your character will t-pose through the skies instead.

I didn’t see a massive increase in defense, but there is a minimal difference. It does free up some inventory space if you’re carrying around the environment-resistant armors, which is a nice bonus, but I can’t help missing my character’s hair. Not that she doesn’t rock the bald look.

If you’re happy to look more like an egg than any of the Pal eggs you find on your adventures and want a small, yet noticeable increase to your defense stats, this little glitch might work for you.

How to use more than one piece of armor

To equip your armor in a slot other than the one it’s designed for, you have to click on the armor slot you want to put it in before clicking on the piece you want to replace it with from your inventory.

For example, if you want to replace your Glider with a body armor piece, click on the Glider and then click on the armor in your inventory. If you do it the other way around, it won’t work.
