Genshin Impact receives a version update every six weeks like clockwork. Barring unusual circumstances, we should be able to predict Genshin’s update schedule for 2024. Let’s see what that looks like.
Genshin Impact version update schedule
Each version is six weeks long, with updates happening on Wednesdays in China (usually Tuesday evenings for most Americans).
We don’t know how many 4.X patches there will be, but previous versions went up to 2.8 and 3.8 before rolling over to the next whole number. From this, we can speculate that the 4.X patches will also go up to 4.8, but things could turn out otherwise.
Version | Anticipated release date (CN) |
4.4 | January 31 |
4.5 | March 13 |
4.6 | April 24 |
4.7 | June 5 |
4.8 | July 17 |
5.0 | August 28 |
5.1 | October 9 |
5.2 | November 20 |
5.3 | January 1 |
When is Natlan coming to Genshin Impact?
We can expect Natlan, the nation of Pyro, to be explorable in Version 5.0 of Genshin Impact. We don’t know how many Fontaine patches there will be, so the exact date for when Version 5.0 will drop is up in the air. If there are exactly eight Fontaine patches, then we can expect Natlan on August 28, 2024. If not, though, I would still predict Natlan to debut sometime in the late summer or early fall.
Either way, we’ve still got several Fontaine patches to enjoy before Natlan arrives. It looks like Xianyun and Gaming will be the first new characters to come to Genshin in 2024, with many more on the way. I wish everyone good luck with their pulls in the new year and a very happy Lantern Rite!
