Best Chevreuse builds in Genshin Impact

Unfortunately, muskets aren’t an option.

Chevreuse is a 4-star Pyro Polearm character in Genshin Impact who specializes in Overload teams. Here’s everything you need to know to turn Chevreuse into the best Overload support!

While DPS Chevreuse is possible, it requires at least Constellation 4 to be viable. As such, the on-field DPS playstyle isn’t covered here.

Chevreuse’s best weapons

As a support, Chevreuse will want to build as much HP as possible. Her healing and buffs both scale with HP, and her Burst is only useful as a means to trigger the 4pc Noblesse Oblige buff. if Chevreuse is not equipping 4pc Noblesse Oblige, she does not need to use her Burst at all, absolving her of any Energy Recharge requirements.

The weapon choices below reflect her role as an HP-scaling healer and buffer with little investment in personal damage.

Favonius Lance
Good old Favonius provides Energy for the rest of the team as long as Chevreuse is able to land a CRIT while on-field. This does mean investing in some CRIT Rate artifacts, which could result in less overall HP for Chevreuse’s healing and buffs. Still, I find the extra particles to be well worth the tradeoff.

Rightful Reward
This 4-star craftable Polearm grants Chevreuse some flat Energy when she is healed. Chevreuse only heals the on-field character though, so if she switches out too quickly after using her Skill, she can sometimes fail to proc Rightful Reward’s passive effect. You can get around this by making sure to use her Skill, then Burst before switching to your next character.

Black Tassel
Despite its 3-star status, Black Tassel provides the most HP out of any Polearm in Genshin Impact. Unlike the options above, Black Tassel does not grant any Energy Recharge, making it better for builds that don’t rely on 4pc Noblesse Oblige. Black Tassel can be easily obtained through wishes.

Prototype Starglitter / Kitain Cross Spear
These 4-star craftable Polearms help with Chevreuse’s Energy needs. I only recommend these if you are unable to craft Rightful Reward.

In general, any Polearm that grants HP or Energy Recharge will be usable. I still recommend sticking with the weapons on this list though, since other Polearms like The Catch, Engulfing Lightning, or Staff of Homa are better used on other characters.

Artifact sets

4pc Noblesse Oblige
My generally recommended set for Chevreuse, though it requires building some Energy Recharge. This artifact set allows Chevreuse to grant a teamwide 20% ATK buff when she uses her Burst. If not using this set, then Chevreuse can forgo using her Burst altogether.

4pc Ocean-Hued Clam / 4pc Song of Days Past
Both of these sets convert a portion of Chevreuse’s healing into damage. They gain potency if Chevreuse has her sixth Constellation, but you can absolutely still use them at C0. The Clam bubble will deal a small amount of AoE Physical damage while Song of Days Past grants an additive buff to your on-fielder’s damage. In general, Chevreuse’s healing won’t be enough to max out these damage sources, but it’s still free damage. As an added bonus, these sets allow you to go all-in on building HP while ignoring Energy Recharge altogether.

2pc combos
If you don’t have a decent 4pc set, 2pc sets work just fine. Use any combo that grants you the most HP to maximize the buff from Chevreuse’s Ascension 4 passive. Healing Bonus is also fine, since it increases her healing. Avoid Energy Recharge; you won’t need Energy Recharge at all if using 2pc sets.

CRIT Rate (if Favonius)

Chevreuse’s Energy Recharge needs vary widely depending on her team. Without any Constellations, Chevreuse’s Energy Recharge requirements can be quite high in the 180-200% range. Favonius, Rightful Reward, or Kitain Cross Spear can help reduce this to a more reasonable 150-170%. Having Raiden, a Pyro teammate, or Constellation 1 reduces this figure even further.

Remember that if Chevreuse is not equipping 4pc Noblesse Oblige, she can ignore Energy Recharge altogether.

Aside from Energy Recharge, the rest of Chevreuse’s stats can focus on HP and Healing Bonus. HP is generally preferred, since her buff scales only with HP.
