Best Baizhu Builds, Weapons, and Teams in Genshin Impact

Immortality is a wish away.

Baizhu is a 5-star Dendro Catalyst healer in Genshin Impact. Here are Baizhu’s best weapons, artifacts, and teams to make yourself functionally immortal!

Baizhu is typically an off-field support. His Skill heals the entire team for a significant amount, but the healing comes a few seconds after casting. This is usually not a problem unless you find yourself at critically low health when casting. His Burst periodically heals the on-field character while also creating a shield at intervals. The shields aren’t very strong, but they don’t need to be, given Baizhu’s healing. It might be better to think of the shields as a small amount of interruption resistance. As an off-field support, Baizhu will use his Skill, then Burst, then swap to teammates.

On-field Baizhu is also possible since, as a Catalyst user, his Normal Attacks deal Dendro damage. They won’t deal significant damage on their own, but they can be used to apply Dendro to enemies. His range is fairly small though, forcing you to stay in melee range.

Weapons

Jadefall’s Splendor
Baizhu’s signature Catalyst is unsurprisingly his best weapon. It solves his Energy issues nicely while providing some useful HP. Still, it’s generally not worth pulling for this weapon, since he has several competitive alternatives.

Prototype Amber
The 4-star craftable Prototype Amber makes a great free alternative to Jadefall’s Splendor. It provides nearly as much HP while generating Energy for Baizhu. It also heals the team for a small amount when Baizhu Bursts, bolstering his effectiveness as a healer.

Favonius Codex
Of course, you can always go Fav. Favonius Codex takes care of Baizhu’s Energy issues while allowing him to generate more Energy for the rest of his team. The only caveat is that you’ll need to build some CRIT Rate, which might mean sacrificing a bit of HP, reducing his healing effectiveness.

Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers
At Refinement Rank 5, this 3-star Catalyst provides a hefty 48% ATK buff when Baizhu swaps to another character. It doesn’t help with his Energy needs, but it turns Baizhu into a potent buffer as well as healer.

Artifacts

4pc Deepwood Memories (4DWM)
This set is a must in Spread, Bloom, Hyperbloom, or Burgeon teams. Baizhu is a prime candidate to hold this set since both his Skill and Burst deal multiple instances of damage. In scenarios with many enemies, Baizhu may struggle to apply the debuff to all of them, but this is rarely a significant issue.

4pc Ocean-Hued Clam (4OHC)
If you already have a 4DWM holder in your team, you can try 4OHC instead. This set converts Baizhu’s healing into periodic instances of AoE Physical damage. Baizhu will rarely max out this damage outside of his Skill, but it’s still a decent source of bonus damage.

4pc Noblesse Oblige (4NO) / 4pc Instructor (4INS)
These are support sets that confer either an ATK or Elemental Mastery buff to the team. Pick one depending on which stat is more important to you.

CRIT Rate (if Favonius)

Baizhu can require up to 220% Energy Recharge if he is the sole Dendro character on the team. Having Jadefall’s Splendor, Favonius Codex, or Prototype Amber helps significantly. If using one of these weapons, you rarely need above 180% Energy Recharge.

Aside from Energy Recharge, you should invest primarily into HP. An HP circlet is recommended over Healing Bonus since the team buff from Baizhu’s Ascension 4 Passive scales with his HP. Though a Healing Bonus circlet would result in more healing, Baizhu heals plenty without it, so you might as well opt for more damage.

Teams

Quicken

Quicken teams feature a combination of Dendro and Electro units. By triggering Quicken on an enemy, subsequent Dendro and Electro hits will trigger Spread and Aggravate, respectively. As long as these two elements are present, there’s quite a lot of room for flexibility.

  • Dendro: Alhaitham, Nahida, and Tighnari make for great on-field Spread DPS units.
  • Electro: Raiden, Keqing, and Yae Miko are good on-field Aggravate DPS units. Yae Miko, Fischl, or Beidou are your off-field options.
  • Flex: Venti, Kazuha, or Sucrose with 4pc Viridescent Venerer will help with crowd-control and Electro RES shred. Alternatively, you can bring Zhongli for his universal RES shred, though his shield is somewhat redundant with Baizhu’s.

Nilou Bloom

Baizhu is particularly valuable in Nilou Bloom teams due to their propensity for self-damage. As long as your team only has Hydro and Dendro units, you can generally mix and match as you please. My team suggestions are:

  • Baizhu – Nilou – Nahida/Dendro Traveler/Alhaitham – Xingqiu/Yelan

Hyperbloom/Burgeon

Combine Hydro and Dendro to create Dendro Cores, then hit them with either Electro or Pyro to trigger Hyperbloom or Burgeon, respectively. If Baizhu is the sole Dendro unit, then you may want to play him on-field so that he can apply more Dendro with his Normal Attacks.

  • Baizhu – Xingqiu/Yelan – Nahida – Raiden/Thoma
