Genshin Impact has a new web event that calls on Travelers to power-wash various locations around Teyvat. There are a lot of moving parts to this event, so here’s what you need to know to get all of the rewards from “Lean, Mean, Cleaning Machine!” in Genshin Impact!
The web event lasts until January 24, 2024 at midnight UTC+8. Parts of the event are time-gated, so you’ll need to participate over at least three days. Rewards include Primogems, Mora, Hero’s Wits, and Enhancement Ores, all delivered through in-game mail. Access the event through the official page.
Do the minigame to get Wastewater
Once you get through the tutorial, you’ll see a total of six minigame stages. Each of these is a cleaning minigame. Aim your water gun at the dirty object in the center of the screen, and move your cursor around until it is fully clean. There may be distractions in the way, but hitting these doesn’t appear to incur a penalty.
Completing a stage by cleaning an object awards you with several things:
- 10-15 Primogems
- 500-1,000 Wastewater
- 2 Mystic Enhancement Ores or Hero’s Wits
- A photo for your Archive
After completing all six stages, remember to access the Archive and claim a 10,000 Mora reward.
Exchange Wastewater for rewards
On the left side of the screen, there is a shop icon labeled “Cleanup Reputation.” Clicking the icon takes you to the rewards exchange page for Wastewater.
Wastewater can be exchanged for Cleanup Reputation at a variable rate. Clicking the small arrow at the right side of the screen brings up your friends list. If a friend has a better exchange rate than you do, you can make exchanges at their rate, provided they have logged into Genshin Impact that day. Lower is better. The goal is to spend less Wastewater per Cleanup Reputation point.
The resulting Cleanup Reputation can then be exchanged for in-game rewards like Primogems, Hero’s Wits, and Mystic Enhancement Ores.
Don’t stress out about optimizing exchange rates. The last stage of the minigame is repeatable, so as soon as you unlock it, you can farm more Wastewater as needed. You will be able to claim all rewards, even with terrible exchange rates.
Stamina Missions
So, how do you unlock additional stages? Each new stage requires stamina to unlock. Click the lightning bolt icon at the top of the page to see your stamina missions.
There are four daily missions that will refresh every day at 4:00 AM server time. These are basic tasks like logging into the web event, logging into Genshin Impact, doing daily commissions, and viewing Genshin Impact social media pages.
There are also several challenge missions that don’t appear to refresh. You can gain a maximum of 250 stamina from challenge missions, so even though there are eight missions, you only need to do five. They are:
- Enhance any artifact five times. You don’t need to enhance an artifact by a whole five levels. You can just use the lowest-value artifact EXP you have and enhance incrementally. As long as you press the “Enhance” button five times, it counts.
- Enhance any weapon five times. Similarly to artifacts, you don’t need to enhance a full five levels. Just use the smallest Enhancement Ore you have five times.
- Claim rewards after defeating a boss. Kill any world boss and claim the rewards at the end of the fight.
- Claim Ley Line blossom rewards once. Complete any Ley Line challenge in the overworld and claim the rewards at the end.
- Complete one domain. Complete any domain challenge. Spiral Abyss stages count as domains, if you don’t want to spend Resin.
- Defeat one enemy of note. Defeat any weekly boss. You don’t need to claim rewards for this one.
- Open five treasure chests. If you have any chests left in the overworld, open five of them to complete this mission.
- Open ten treasure chests. Same as the above, if you’ve procrastinated on your exploration.
Recall Rewards
You can gain an additional 80 Primogems with the aid of a friend who hasn’t played Genshin Impact in a while. On the stamina missions screen, click the tab at the bottom for Recall Rewards.
If you have a friend (or an alt account) that is at least Adventure Rank 10 and hasn’t logged into Genshin Impact in at least two weeks, have them access the event page. Tell them to navigate to the Recall Rewards screen and give them your Recall Code. If they enter your Recall Code on their screen (and their account meets the returnee requirements), you will receive 80 Primogems via in-game mail.
Be sure to thank your friend for their service, or high-five yourself if you dug up an old alt. Genshin Impact Version 4.4 is just around the corner, so this web event is one of your last chances to bolster your Xianyun/Gaming funds.
