TGIF Open Thread!

Hello, Destructoid! It's that wonderful time of the week! It's Friday!

I'm officially jobless! My contract ended yesterday, and as I promised myself, I didn't renew it. However, I didn't totally say goodbye to the company either. While I was hired to write for one game, as I mentioned a few weeks ago, I got this "promotion" to write for their flagship. I'll continue writing for this other game, but on a project basis rather than as an actual employee of the company. Pretty much like Fiverr - they pay me to write this specific thing, and I write it. No need for meetings, schedules, or any of those links with the company. This other game is more pleasant to write, so it's a good deal - at least this will complement whatever money I get from the book sales until I find a more stable job.

I watched my first film of the year, Bottoms. I love how unapologetically queer it is, but the comedy didn't resonate with me as much. I get absurdity was the goal here, but I wish we had gotten a little more out of the characters and the romances. Still had a good time! I also started watching Echo after hearing good things about it and discovering it was M-rated. Three episodes in, and I'm liking it quite a lot!

Plans for this week include (maybe) finishing Echo, revising more of my MK1 fan fic (more than half the chapters already published 🙌), and playing BG3, of course!
